Step 2

Wait to receive a teletherapy email link from your therapist.

  • On a computer or tablet, use Google Chrome or Firefox.

  • If you will be using a mobile device, you will get the best performance if you use Google Chrome as your browser on Wi-Fi.

Step 3

Regardless of the platform, make sure to test the invite link before your appointment.

That’s It!

Common teletherapy questions

What is teletherapy counseling?

Teletherapy counseling is a therapy that is conducted online via computer, tablet, phone, or other electronic devices.

This type of counseling could be a great option for someone who wants to see a therapist, but may not be able to see them in person. Teletherapy can be used for individual counseling or group counseling.

Through online counseling, you can feel supported even if you are miles away from your therapist.

Is Teletherapy covered by insurance?

Many insurance companies may cover teletherapy sessions. The best option would be to reach out to your insurance provider directly to research what types of therapy they will cover/reimburse.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, many mental health providers have been conducting their sessions virtually.

If you have any questions about insurance or counselors that accept insurance, Ambler Counseling Center would be happy to be a resource for you.

Give us a  call, we are happy to be a part of your journey.  Teletherapy is just one of the tools Ambler Counseling Center is using to keep our therapists and clients safe.

How much does teletherapy cost?

This may vary depending on the therapist and insurance. Since therapist’s rates can vary, asking the therapist directly will help answer cost questions.

Asking if they take insurance will help you figure out cost questions surrounding insurance.

Some therapists may use a sliding scale for their payment rates, which sets the payment amount based on what you can afford.

One thing you should ask about is cancellation fees!

Ambler Counseling Center does not charge for missed sessions, we try to be accommodating to our clients and understand when life happens.

You can contact Kellie Brunton, the clinical director at Ambler Counseling Center by submitting the form on our contact page.

Can the Therapist do phone sessions?

Yes, some therapists do offer phone sessions. Phone sessions are available under certain circumstances.

Ambler Counseling Center understands that everyday life may get in the way of your scheduled session with your therapist and we try to be as accommodating as possible.
