Who Are We?
You probably already know that we are a mom-and-pop, boutique-style, customized counseling private practice that aims to give clients and community members seeking services a breath of fresh air. Our vision started years ago from a single office and has expanded to numerous meticulously designed spaces in 4 locations to facilitate comfort and ease. Our ethos at Ambler Counseling Center is one that aspires to see every individual as the unique, whole person that they are, and to provide them with various holistic services all under one roof. We go above and beyond with every step of care that we provide and pour our whole hearts into the services we provide.
Who Are You?
When you are asked to describe yourself to someone new, how do you describe yourself? We often associate our adult identities with our career paths, but we want to know who you are in and out of your therapeutic role. In the case of healers and helpers, we understand what it’s like to eat, sleep, and breathe “helping others”. Can you relate? Keep reading!
Our team is made up of an eclectic bunch of experienced clinicians, with varying backgrounds. Many members of the team have a background with higher level of care supports such as crisis centers, in-home intensive services, residential treatment programs, IOPs and PHPs, or community mental health clinics. All of this experience ‘in the trenches’ has allowed our team members to evolve into the clinicians that they are today, working with a boutique-style and heavily individualized private practice.
Clinicians that thrive in our practice bring their own special joie de vivre to their work with clients. MUST be a culturally competent therapist with active support to clients of all races, ethnicities, genders, religions, sexualities, and ages! What to Expect
We find that, when we are flexible with our clients, our clients are able to be flexible with us. In order to set ourselves apart and shine as the 5-star providers that we pride ourselves in being, our team members tend to be flexible with clients’ busy life schedules and are willing to think on their feet to make appointments work for all parties involved. We stress an environment that cultivates recognizing our own boundaries and limitations while encouraging those who want to take on new and exciting opportunities with the practice to go the extra mile.
Our supervisory team is one that encourages and promotes on-going and consistent collaboration and consultation. Our vision here is unique and very specific! Team members in our practice take initiative in seeking out supports that are available to them around the clock and have built comfort and safety in making mistakes and working to repair them with the supervisory team’s support.
Our pre-licensed clinicians with full client caseloads are provided with individual supervision commensurate with their weekly hours. We are also offer bimonthly group supervision and encourage team members to build long-lasting support systems within one another. The team's overall energy meshes very well and is conducive to constructive feedback and support when struggling with clinical or professional areas of growth.

Our team of directors will review your resume and any additional information you provide us with. Should we be interested in setting up an interview, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview.
Step 3
If our phone interview highlights the ways in which the practice and you might be a good fit, our team will follow-up to set up an in-person interview. Typically we dig a bit deeper into who you are, your clinical workings, do a “mock intake” and maybe even dust off some roleplays for challenging situations.
Step 4
If all goes well, you can expect to hear from a member of the team by phone to discuss further details! We will review what to expect once you’ve accepted your offer. We can’t wait to get started!
Our Intern Program
Our Intern program is as selective, thorough, and detail-oriented as you could expect from any programs offered by Ambler Counseling Center. We seek similar qualities within our prospective interns that we would seek when hiring clinicians. We offer Practicum and Internship placements separately – this allows us to continuously assess for your areas for growth and how the practice may or may not be a good fit for your learning and professional needs. We re-evaluate your placement contracts between Practicum and Internship.
